Limerick company Frank McGrath Construction has won the almost €3m contract from the Office of Public Works to build the new decentralised office for the Revenue Commissioners in Newcastle West.

Noel Ahern, Minister of State at the Department of Finance made the announcement that the project will soon begin.

“The contract is in the sum of €2,862,000 and I’m confident that the contractor will begin work in the next few weeks and should be completed within 12 months. The OPW acquired the site from the local authority and the way is clear for demolition works and construction to begin.”

Deputy Ahern added that Newcastlewest will benefit “substantially from the decentralisation process with the arrival of additional civil servants to augment the staff already in the county”.
