Page 1 of 2 Lorraine Behan worked for 14 years in recruitment, management and business development before deciding to share some of her knowledge in setting up BW & Associates to offer a professional sales development and training consultancy service. Having done many seminars throughout her career, Ms Behan thought that the one-to-one was best and so decided to offer a service that moved away from simply presenting and distributing material.
“I do an individual consultation with companies and individuals so it’s not just giving the same presentation to groups. It’s important to experience all kinds of seminars but I have found that that the personal touch works. Using practical, working examples makes the information realistic. It’s not just about motivation; you have to make skills applicable.” Since it was founded in 2006, the company has provided training and consultancy for various types of businesses both nationwide and internationally. “The main objective is to enhance sales employee’s business and professional development skills using a fresh and practical approach. I also offer clear guidelines to help them to reach their full potential. This is an established training company which has become synonymous with quality, integrity and results.” Some of the areas that Ms Behan covers include sales training, communication skills, assertiveness skills, time management, negotiation skills, presentation skills, customer care and complaint handling and reception skills. “I do cover other subjects and courses; it all depends on what the client needs or wants. The ‘associates’ in the title means that there is a list of other companies and people I can call on and liaise with if I can’t provide something directly,” she added.
Stages for company training would include a brief meeting, fieldwork and research, a pre course meeting to approve the plan I have devised, the training itself and then follow-up and support.
