Page 1 of 2 Knowing that your home or business is in safe hands is incredibly important to the people of Limerick, according to Peter Clifford who founded Clifford Security Alarms, 21-years ago. Peter, who has worked in the security industry since he left school, now owns one of the region's leading security systems installation companies. ![]() It specialises in the installation and maintenance of high-tech security devices to commercial and domestic customers—supplying CCTV, burglar alarms, door access systems, secure cabinets, panic buttons and safes and more. "My father and brother introduced cable TV to the city so I was always involved in the electronics side of things. I worked with Chubb Alarms for years, which did a lot of commercial work. I noticed that there were not that many people supplying alarms and decided to branch into that. There have been huge changes in the market—particularly the domestic sector—since then." Peter said that more business and homeowners see the benefits of having security cameras as well as an alarm system and he ensures that Clifford Alarms is on the cutting edge of technology. "We're based in Wickham Street and we're the only company with a showroom so people can come in and see the equipment in operation. CCTV systems have become much more popular, as have monitored alarm systems. We are also offering a system now that works on a radio transmitter. So if a burglar cuts the phone line, the alarm will still send out an alert. It can even be controlled by your mobile phone." Clifford Security Alarms has built up a vast client base including major financial institutions, warehouses, bars, factories, restaurants and residential properties of all types. The firm also takes lighting, tracking requirements, location and visibility into account and engineers aim to complete every job tidily and quickly. Peter says the company is accredited by the National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI) and the Private Security Authority (PSA), to guarantee the highest level of service. He added that the key is staying "one step ahead" and his company is "tried and tested" with an excellent track record. "We are long established and well known in the region but we've also branched out all over the country in the last two years. |
