The Shannon Chamber last week hosted a special breakfast seminar, which offered businesses from the area advice on the impending amendments to national waste legislation as well as a number of money-saving waste reduction methods.

New packaging regulations, due to come into effect from January of next year, will bring many smaller companies within the scope of Ireland's waste legislation and so it is key that companies involved in the production, distribution and retailing of products with packaging ensure they are fully compliant with the newly amended legislation.

This includes larger producers, in addition to smaller businesses such as off-licences, retailers, hotels, restaurants and importers.
