A Limerick business has been named national Forecourt/Convenience Store of the Year at a special reception in Dublin. ![]() Picture: Eventimage Photographers Chawke’s of Castletroy beat the cream of other businesses for the prestigious award and recently travelled to the Citywest Hotel with an eight-strong team from Chawke’s Service Station for the awards presentation, which attracted over 400 people. Chawke’s was also awarded Best Forecourt Off-Licence for the second successive year. “We are delighted that our team effort has been rewarded. To be a finalist in so many categories reflects the range of services that we have on our site in Castletroy. To take home two winners trophies is an honour. You could say that it has been the reward for 40 years work,” said Tom Chawke, manager, Chawke’s of Castletroy. Ireland’s Forecourt & Convenience Retailer Awards, hosted this year by Grainne Seoige, are the only awards in Ireland totally focused on the needs of forecourt and convenience retailers.
Chawke’s Service Station, based on the Dublin Road in Castletroy, was nominated in six categories, including Best Forecourt Facilities, Forecourt/Convenience Store of the Year, Best Food to Go, Best Deli, Best Forecourt Off-Licence and Best Customer Service. The overall winners of each category were decided through mystery shopping visits, business audits and interviews. |
