Dell employees took part in the newly launched walking routes designed for the Dell campus in Limerick as part of Dell’s annual Work Life Effectiveness Week last week. ![]() Taking part in the lunch time walk during Work Life Effectiveness Week at Dell, Limerick were, from L-R: Neasa O'Donovan, Clair Finnegan and Emer Neilan. The company dedicates an entire week each year to encouraging employees to maintain a healthy balance between their work and their personal lives. Activities which took place on the Dell campus included seminars on nutrition, stress awareness, financial services advice, sleep, smoking cessation and work-life balance. There were competitions running over the week as well as some tournaments, fitness testing, massage and beauty treatments. A focus was placed on healthy eating with special offers on healthy snacks and fruit in the canteen. To encourage employees to participate in some healthy exercise each day, Dell launched three different planned walking routes around the industrial park timed to take 10, 15 or 20 minutes to complete.
“Dell has policies in place at all times to enable our employees to find a healthy balance between their working and their personal lives. However when it’s busy it’s sometimes hard to see a way of controlling the balance and we have found over the years that the week is a great way of reminding employees of the options available to them.” Dell is one of Ireland’s largest employers, employing 4500 people at two sites including Limerick and is constantly encouraging employee involvement in local communities. |
