There was good news on the connectivity front for Shannon last week when Belavia-national airline of Belarus-announced it will restore schedule services to Shannon from December 9, following its suspension of the service last August.
Shannon Airport Director Martin Moroney said that in addition to providing direct connectivity with Minsk and facilitating the excellent work of the Chernobyl Children’s, the news is also very positive in that Belavia has also identified new opportunities for onward connectivity with other major cities in the region.
“We are delighted that Belavia has made this decision, which is positive news for Shannon, and that services will resume much earlier than we had initially expected. We are particularly pleased that Belavia’s review of the Shannon service has identified new opportunities for connecting traffic between Ireland and the major cities of Moscow, Kiev and St. Petersburg, as well as facilitating the traditional Chernobyl Children’s Charities,” Mr Moroney said.
