SHANNON-based St Andrew's Group presented three charities, including Milford Care Centre with cheques totalling €30,000 last week.
Milford Care Centre was presented with a cheque for €15,000 and the Jack and Jill Foundation and the Irish Heart Foundation each received €7,500.
The money was raised through the company's charity committee in 2008 and fundraising activities included race nights, a weight loss challenge, a 10km walk/run, a market stall. Pitch and Putt and a sky dive.
Sr Phyllis Donnellan LCM of Milford Hospice said: “We extend our sincere thanks to everyone at St Andrew's Group Shannon for their generosity.  This donation will go a long way towards helping us finance our current and developing Palliative Care Services”.
Caroline Holmes, Senior Manager HR and Chair of the Charity Committee, St Andrew's Group, added that the company is “delighted to make these donations to such worthy causes. Each year it is our colleagues who decide which charities we will support as a company for the year. They then put a huge effort in to helping us reach our ambitious fundraising targets”.
St Andrew's Group was voted one of the top 50 companies to work for in 2007 and was awarded Overall winner for Training and Development by the Irish Institute of Training and development (IITD) in February 2008.
