Limerick’s Quality Hotel and Leisure Centre has been awarded the Gilby Gold Medal Award for Ireland’s Best Three Star Hotel by leading hospitality industry magazine, Hotel & Catering Review.

The hotly contested awards, sponsored by Musgrave Food Services and presented at a ceremony last week, recognize and reward excellence within the industry in twelve separate categories.

Tara Lyng, Sales and Marketing Manager at the hotel said that all the staff are delighted that the establishment has been honoured.

“It’s a remarkable achievement to get the award just a year after the hotel opened. We were in competition 174 hotels- most of which are very well established- and that list was reduced to three finalists. The whole staff has gotten a morale boost and we’re going to make a huge efforf to defend the title next year,” she added.

Other Limerick establishments that made it to the finals include The Mustard Seed in Ballingarry, which was shortlisted in the Country Homes category and the Brothers of Charity Services, which was a finalist in the Institutional Caterers category.

The Gold Medal Awards recognise and reward excellence within the Irish hotel and catering industry, presenting awards in 12 separate categories.

The awards, which attracted hundreds of entries, are now in their nineteenth year.
