Shannon Development has visited Co Limerick to brief the Newcastle West & District Chamber of Commerce on the company's activities in the area of local commerce projects. Shannon Development Chairman John Brassil outlined Shannon Development's renewed regional development focus, which is seeing the company intensify its work with local groups around Co Limerick. The groups involved include the Kantoher and Castlemahon plants, and Glin Development Association, which Shannon Development is helping to realise the full economic potential of the West Limerick area. A spokeswoman for the company said that Shannon Development also outlined its activities to promote tourism in the West Limerick area including e-marketing and product development initiatives. In addition to this, Shannon Development has identified a number of flagship projects including the roll out of a broadband network, which has seen 6.2km of fibre optic cable being laid around Newcastle West. This is to provide the infrastructure needed by licensed operators to offer the latest broadband services to businesses, all which is seen to be of huge benefit to the West Limerick area. |
