‘WAY OUT’, an exhibition dubbed the “brain child of a small group of third year Fine Art students at the Limerick School of Art and Design, has opened to the public at 3 Denmark Street. The exhibition will run until September 19 from 11am to 6pm daily. According to a statement by the organizers, ‘Way Out’ is a vehicle for gate crashing the art world; it is an outlet for work that we feel should exist outside the college walls; it is a mishmash of ideas and concept the only the underlying connection being that, to us, it is all relevant, and as such is relevant to the future of Irish art. “This, the first Way Out, is a test subject, a means of learning the ropes, learning the rules, deciding which to bend and which to break. In the future, we want to expand Way Out, to use it as a tool to promote openness and inclusiveness in art,” it reads. “’Way Out’ is when you're tired of waiting for your chance, or waiting for a change, it is looking ahead and asking, ‘Why wait? When we can do it ourselves’.” For further information, contact Aidan Kelleher, email This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it . |
