Budding journalists and music producers are among the many aspiring students being sought by Limerick Senior College for the forthcoming academic year. The further education and training college is currently accepting applications for the vast selection of full and part-time courses that it has on offer. Two new additions are one-year courses in Radio, Broadcasting and Music Management and Advanced Media Production. These complement its other media offerings, which include: Broadcast Journalism and Media Studies, Print Journalism and TV and Film Production/Film Studies (all one-year). Limerick Senior College has a wide range of courses to suit the needs of both school leavers and mature students and these include: Computer Applications, Business Management, Accounting Technician, Tourism, Teleservices, Languages, Marketing, International Trade, Information Processing, Reception, Teacher Training, Childcare, Health Education, Art, Photography, Interior Design, Fashion, Hairdressing and Beauty & Complementary Therapy. It also offers a selection of part-time evening and morning courses. The college's website explains that it aims "to provide high quality internationally recognised educational programmes, delivered in a modern dynamic environment by a highly qualified and committed team of tutors. All courses are accredited by a number of prestigious validating bodies. The approval of the college by these bodies is a further benchmark of the high quality of courses, facilities and tuition on offer". Applicants should be aware that while demand is high, the traditional Leaving Certificate points system does not apply at Limerick Senior College. Students must meet minimum academic entry requirements but places are also allocated based on a successful personal interview. For more information on the college and its courses, see www.limericksc.ie or call 061-414344. Application forms are available online and can also be posted out to applicants. |
