BORD Gáis Energy is calling on the students of Limerick to ‘capture the energy’ for a new photography competition. The contest is open to students of all ages across primary and secondary schools, who are asked to capture images showing the energy in the world around them. This year, the competition—now in its second year—will run until March 26. There are lots of fantastic prizes to be won in each of the four age categories (primary school—aged five to nine years old and 10 to 13 years old and secondary school—12 to 15 years old, 16 to 19 years old). Last year, Bord Gáis Energy received 4,677 entries from students nationwide with over 25 schools in Limerick taking part in the competition. The overall prize winner will receive a Canon Digital SLR Camera; a Nintendo Wii console and Wii Fit and their photograph will be published on the front cover of ‘At Home’ magazine. Other prizes include a Canon Digital Camera, an Apple Ipod Touch, a Wii fit and a Wii console. For more information, see www.capturethepower.ie or call 01-5224800.
