Peer Network
UL is currently recruiting for its peer-to-peer network, made up of student volunteers who act as an informal support network for new university students. Students involved give their time freely to help newcomers get to know the university and help them to deal with daily stresses.

“It will take very little time from college work, is a great way to meet new people and looks good for any future employers. We had an amazing response last year from the people who volunteered and who used the service, so much so that it was given a full time coordinator to manage this year,” said Peer-to-Peer Network co-ordinator Aidan Healy.

Any current students interested in volunteering their time can email This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it for details.

Drama School
The Drama League of Ireland, the national body, which promotes and fosters all aspects of amateur drama in Ireland, is this week holding its 43rd annual summer school at UL.

The programme includes classes on acting, directing and comedy for participants. This year’s school also offers a programme entitled “Blackboard Jungle”, designed to help teachers introduce drama into their classrooms.

“This year’s lineup offers something for the experienced and the novice with a range of highly qualified and experienced tutors who have designed courses to cater for all levels of experience,” said Course Director, Willie O’Brien. The school continues until this Saturday.
