LIMERICK lass Lesley Ann Halvey is vocalist with all-female rock band Black Daisy who first came to our attention on RTE’s ‘You’re a Star’. Fuelled with rip-roaring guitar hooks and bass and drums kicking it forward, the Dublin-based quartet recently released their debut single ‘Disturbing New Fashion’ and played to thousands of inmates at Mountjoy Prison. 1.What is your motto?

Life is short so chase the dream, live wildly, love passionately and never regret.

2. Do you have a nickname?

Where do I start? Les, Lessers, L.A., Legsley (don’t ask), Les Jagger… the list goes on.

3. Where do you see yourself in ten years time?

Still writing music, gigging, recording, traveling and always having the craic.

4. What is heaven to you?

Being on stage with the band and having the crowds undivided attention… there’s nothing like it.

5. What is hell to you?

Hell to me is a world with no music or colour in it.

6. What would your dying words be?

Make sure no pics of me dead leak onto the Internet or I’ll come back and haunt you all.

7. What is your favourite method of relaxation?

Listening to chill out music on my mp3 player, or drawing.

8. What is your favourite food/drink/stimulant?

Indian Tikka Masaala, Corona Extra with lime and Red Bull.

9. What makes you tick?

Music in every form there is. It’s the rhythm of life.

10. What is your favourite album of all time?

‘The Pretenders Greatest Hits’.

11. Who is your favourite musician or band?

At the moment I’m loving The Script. I tend to change with the times.

12. What is your favourite movie of all time?

‘Face Off’, it’s a savage film!

13. What is the last DVD you bought or rented?

‘I Am Legend’ starring Will Smith.

14. What is the last book you read?

‘Cradle And All’ by James Patterson, scary stuff!

15. What is your favourite television programme?

I’m a self-confessed soap addict. I love ‘Corrie’ and ‘Eastenders’.

16. What celebrity would you most like to hang out with?

Amy Winehouse.

17. What annoys you?

Bad sound engineers.

18. Where in the world would you most like to visit?

Egypt and the Great Wall of China.

19. What animal would you like to return as in another life?

A dolphin, they are very intelligent and beautiful creatures.

20. What do you like best about Limerick?

That of all the places I’ve lived and traveled to so far, there’s still no place like home.

21. What do you like best about yourself?

I’m brutally honest all the time, too much sometimes.

22. Who would your dream date be?

My dream date would be doing something completely out of the norm like skydiving or bungee jumping. Now that’s a date you wouldn’t forget!

23. What would you do if you won the lottery?

I would look after my family, open a stray animal shelter, build a recording studio and travel the world.

24. Do you have any hidden talents?

None that would be allowed to get published.

25. What’s your immediate plan for the future?

Making it big with Black Daisy and world domination.
