Hayley, a triple-platinum selling star has a voice lauded for its “remarkable purity” and “breathtaking natural beauty”. The young Kiwi singer who has won the hearts of millions worldwide will now make her debut in Limerick’s UCH next month.

Following an incredible meteoric rise to fame, Hayley has duetted with great Andrea Bocelli and Jose Carreres, performed in the Albert Hall, The White House, Carnegie Hall and at numerous international sporting events. Her first album, ‘Pure’, topped the UK classical charts and went to the Top Ten in the pop charts, while in her homeland it was the biggest-selling album of all time. To date Hayley has sold over three million albums worldwide.

With a repertoire that covers classical, traditional and popular, Hayley’s Irish ancestry has always inspired her musically and in 2006 she joined the Celtic Woman tour.

Joined by the RTE Concert Orchestra and principal conductor David Brophy, Hayley will perform a mix of sublime traditional and classical melodies when she visits UCH on September 12. Among her repertoire are favourites such as ‘Danny Boy’, ‘Scarborough Fair’, ‘Pokarekare Ana’, a famous Maori song from New Zealand, Caccini’s ‘Ave Maria’ and more.

This concert is part of the RTE Concert Orchestra Signature Series, a gala concert season with an outstanding line-up of international singing stars. BT in Ireland, who sponsored Hayley’s concert with the RTE Orchestra in Dublin last December, renews its sponsorship for the 2008 performances in both the Capital and Limerick.

Tickets for Hayley Westenra’s UCH concert on September 12 cost €15, €25, €40 and are available on 061-331549 or www.uch.ie.
