BELL X1 have announced that they will stop off at LIT Millennium Theatre on Saturday October 25 as part of an intimate acoustic tour of Ireland.

Having just finished a US tour, the band will perform as a three-piece, comprised of Paul Noonan, David Geraghty and Dominick Philips. Bell X1’s Irish dates take in little rooms all around the country, including The Pavillion in Cork, Electric Avenue in Waterford, De Barra’s in Clonakilty and The Spirit Store in Dundalk, landing in LIT right in the middle of the tour.
While things seem to have been comparatively quiet this year for Bell X1 if you judge them on the home front, following sell out shows in the Point and Malahide Castle in 2007, they have been beavering away internationally and making fantastic headway abroad.
Sold-out tours of the US along with TV performances on everything from Letterman to Conan O’Brien and Craig Ferguson have successfully combined with the release of their multi-platinum Irish release, ‘Flock’ on US independent label Yep Roc to give them a very real foundation for the release of their new album in 2009. Not to mention highly successful touring in Europe both in their own right and as Special Guests to Nada Surf and David Ford.
Bell X1 announced last week that original member Brian Crosby will amicably leave the band this month (after the Panorama Festival) to pursue his work in music production and soundtracks. Both Brian and the remaining members of the band have stressed that they have had plenty of time to prepare for this announcement.
“We’ve grown up making music together and will of course miss Brian in all of the areas that he drove things. The band has become a hub from which many other projects have sprung over the past few years, which is a very healthy thing I think - it’s been great to explore other areas of music. I know his voice will continue to reach people, and I’m sure we’ll work together again in some shape or form. The band has had time to prepare for this and we’re excited to be going into the cycle of a whole new album.  We’ll be drafting someone new into the live band and we’re itching to bring a brand new show to people,” said Bell X1 frontman Paul Noonan.
