A THRILLING night of party games, superstar DJs and fancy dress costumes are on offer at Trinity Rooms’ ‘Zombie Disco Shakedown’ this Friday, October 31.

Trinity Rooms resident DJ Paul Webb takes on Cagedbaby – one of the most exciting DJs in Europe – in a musical showdown that is not to be missed.

Cagedbaby aka Tom Gandey is most known for his seminal 2006 Album ‘Will See You Now’ released on Southern Fried Records. A classically trained pianist and self confessed analogue synth head collecting vintage gear; Gandey’s wide musical influence shows in his unique productions, bringing the solo back from Toto and nodding to Pink Floyd, a darkly intelligent sonic tour de force.

Cagedbaby has supported the Chemical Brothers on tour, produced albums for everyone from David Byrne to Shirley Bassey and sold out DJ sets all over the world. Touring Japan with Fatboy Slim led to him playing to over 100 audiences in 2007 including Glastonbury, Space, Bestival and Rockness as well as China, Seoul, Dubai and frequenting the Far East. He has also been busy working on DJ compilations including the fantastic ‘Mighty Dub Katz vs. Cagedbaby’.

The superstar DJ’s sets imbibe a mixture of his own productions as well as heavy edits of current dance-floor favourites and are designed for the colourful party set that always frequent his gigs. There are hints of both Leftfield and Digitalism in his sound, but also shades of Human League and T-Rex and it’s this melting pot that makes Cagedbaby what he is. Gandey has succeeded in bridging the gap between DJ and band, artist and producer, singer and songwriter, remixer and musical director seemingly without it going to his head.

Also as part of the Zombie Disco Shakedown at Trinity Rooms, Limerick’s number one funk soul brother Leon will host a night of Halloween-tinged singles and re-edits while in Trinity 2 Erick gets down with some dope hip-hop jams and slinky R&B grooves.

Admission is free before 11pm and €8 after.
