There are two top notch slices of quality entertainment coming up at LIT Millennim Theatre next month. ![]() Des Keogh in 'Letters Of A Love Hungry Farmer; coming to LITMT next month. Contact LITMT on 061-322322 or see www.litmt.ie. Des Keogh's adaptation of 'Letters of a Love-Hungry Farmer' by John B. Keane, which has played at the Irish Repertory Theatre in New York, toured throughout Ireland, and performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, will be at the Limerick venue on Wednesday February 13 and Thursday February 14 at 8pm nightly. The play tells the story of John Bosco McLane, a bachelor who at 56 is, according to his own assessment, "past his best" and evidently still a virgin. McClane's amorous adventures range from the cartoonish to the pitiful. He has tales of being led on and humiliated, outraged and offended, duped and shamed. Even the strenuous efforts of matchmaker, Dicky Mick Dicky O'Connor fail him. Tickets are €22.50 (booking fee applies). The LIT Millennium Theatre is also delighted to welcome Red Kettle Theatre Company's acclaimed play 'Boy Soldier', based on the story of John Condon, the youngest allied soldier killed in the First World War. John Condon, a native of Ballybricken, Waterford, was just 14 years of age when he was killed during the second battle of Ypres, on May 24, 1915 – the first time gas was used in warfare. Catch this touching and poignant production from Monday February 18 to Saturday February 23 at 8pm nightly. Tickets are €25 with concessions of €23 available, and offers for School Groups (10+) of €20 per ticket. For booking, both performances, contact 061-322322 or browse the website, www.litmt.ie. |
