Back by popular demand and following the hugely successful sell out in 2007, Deirdre O’Kane returns to star in My Brilliant Divorce at LIT Millennium Theatre from Thursday 6th to Sunday 9th March! My Brilliant Divorce is the hilarious but poignant story of Angela who, recently deserted by her accountant husband for a younger model, finds herself adrift in a sea of weird sexual encounters, sneaky solicitors, phone-in counsellors, a bad case of hypochondria and the spectre of poverty! Should she fight to keep her husband? Or should she sign the final papers and move on? One of Ireland’s best known stand up comedians, Deirdre began her career as an actress and has played every major theatre in Ireland as well as touring to Australia, Canada and the UK. Prior to her appearance in the 2007 Druid production of My Brilliant Divorce, she played the role of Jean in two sold-out runs of Dandelions at the Olympia in 2006. Acting credits on television include The Whistleblowers (ITV), The Clinic (RTE), Fergus’s Wedding (RTE), Paths To Freedom (RTE/BBC), and The Fitz (BBC). Geraldine Aron was born in Galway, but spent most of her adult life in Zambia, Zimbabwe and South Africa. She now divides her time between Cape Town and London. Geraldine’s association with Druid goes back to 1978 when Garry Hynes directed the Irish premiere of her first play, the multi-award winning Bar and Ger. Her plays, produced throughout the world, include A Galway Girl, Same Old Moon, The Donahue Sisters and The Stanley Parkers. She is the author of twelve plays produced for television and radio, and Toscanini, a screenplay directed by Franco Zeffirelli. Directed by Garry Hynes, Designed by Francis O’Connor, Lighting by Barry O’Brien LIT Millennium Theatre. |
