Page 1 of 2 Pop sorceress, iconic diva and multimedia fashionista Grace Jones will give Electric Picnic fans an exclusive sneak peak of her first album in over two decades when she performs at this year’s festival. Jones, who pioneered avant-garde pop, fashion and culture has been working with various purveyors of pop perfection and will release Hurricane in October.
Joan as Policewoman is no stranger to the music industry having played with such luminaries as Antony and the Johnsons, Rufus Wainwright, the Scissor Sisters and Nick Cave to name a few. Under her Policewoman moniker she has received acclaim for ‘’A voice so wondrous and moving that it makes everyone else’s seem ordinary and mundane,” her music shimmers, torch-song-like, between categories. Baltimore-based bedroom electronic pop musician Dan Deacon has garnered a reputation in the underground as an intense performer and classic showman. The table top full of pedals, sine wave generator, vocoder and casio blasting through the PA, joined by a makeshift light board, make his all out dance-til-you-drop performance a complete experience. Booka Shade having performed at the inaugural Soundtrack Festival in Tripod, return to Ireland for their first Picnic appearance.

The Stunning are one of Ireland’s best-loved rock bands. Formed in 1987 and split in 1994 in those seven years the band packed out every venue in the country. Having sold 100,000 albums in Ireland alone the band had massive hits with “Brewing up a Storm” and “Got to Get Away” amongst others.
