Greenmount Park hosts a 2-day National Hunt fixture on Sunday November 11th and Monday November 12th where racing gets under way each day at 12.40.

The feature race on Day One is the Resource sponsored Garryowen Plate, the highlight of the raceday which hosts Garryowen rugby club and its supporters for their third annual raceday. The card also features the Equity in Property GBV’s Ireland Ladies Handicap Hurdle, which on its inaugural running last year was won by the visiting UK team. The two other supporting hurdle races will feature a team of visiting Australian National Hunt jockeys, which, in a similar format, will take on their Irish counterparts as part of a six race series, at four different venues.

The autumn fixture features a host of children’s activities including Bubbles the Clown, face painting and a bouncing castle with a special offer from the on-course Supermac’s for a free kiddies meal for any child wearing a Garryowen Rugby Jersey.

Monday November 12 is an all hurdle card and for the first time in Ireland features a hurdle race run over the Easyfix Plastic Hurdles which are being looked at as a possible long term replacement for the traditional birch hurdles.

Buses on Sunday will run to and from some city centre pubs on ticket promotions. For details check out www.limerickraces.ie. Bus Eireann, meanwhile, will run buses each day from Colbert Station with gates open at 11am on both days. Admission is €15 for adults, €10 for concession and children under 14 are free both days.
