LIMERICK-based record label Gohan Records has announced the list of acts, which will feature on its forthcoming compilation album, comprised of the city’s best, new musical talent. Gohan Records (Monoband, Arkitekt) and Live 95FM’s Green and Live show came together earlier this year to seek out Limerick’s finest bands and solo artists for inclusion on the ‘Tone List’ compilation, due for release next February. The local artists which will feature on the CD include: Supermodel Twins, Walter Mitty and the Realists, Seneca, Mark O’Connor, Drumming Room, Brendan Markham, Arkitekt, The Brad Pitt Light Orchestra, Pio, Giveamanakick, Headgear and Alkali Flat. Noel Hogan of Gohan Records said, “There is so many brilliant bands and solo artists doing great things musically in Limerick. The proof of that will be heard on ‘Tone List’ when it’s released next year.” “This compilation will be a celebration of Limerick’s rich and diverse music scene. All the acts on this album deserve to be heard by a larger audience and hopefully this CD can help them on their way to bigger things,” said Noel. Over the years a varied host of Limerick artists such as Grannies Intentions, Bill Whelan, Tuesday Blue, Mick Hanly and The Cranberries have all enjoyed phenomenal success on the world stage. In recent times local acts such as Giveamanakick and We Should Be Dead have been flying the flag for Limerick music, a trend that shows no sign of abating anytime soon. Presenter of Live 95FM’s Green and Live show, Alan Jacques, commented: “The Limerick music scene has never been healthier and this CD proves that there is an abundance of great talent making all kinds of wonderful noise in the city. Limerick has some of the best musical talent in the country, of that there is no doubt.” ‘Tone List’ will be released through Gohan Records early next year. |
