The Disney Channel’s smash hit movie High School Musical will come to life on the stage at Laurel Hill from November 8 as students perform the show for three nights.

The cast is drawn from the Laurel Hill Coláiste and Secondary School and it has been busy rehearsing since the beginning of September.

Director Tony Cusack and Musical Director Morgan Roughan are working with a cast of over 90 students.

The story centres on Troy and Gabriella, played by Sarah Gillman and Anna Flood, who decide to audition for the school musical, but Troy’s best friend Chad played by Fiona O’Neill and Gabriella’s new friend Taylor played by Brid De Brun do their best to dissuade them.

What follows is a comedy of errors as all characters battle it out for the starring roles.

The supporting cast includes Erin Delaney as Sharpay with Sarah Curtin as her twin brother, Ryan; Drama teacher Ms Darbus is played by Ruth while composer Kelsi is played by Meave O’Brien.

The full-length production, with a full live orchestra, opens in Laurel Hill on Thursday November 8 and runs to Saturday November 10.

Tickets are available from both schools on 061-319383 or 061-313636.
