The internationally renowned guitar virtuoso, Paco García, returns with a vengeance to the LIT Millenium Theatre stage on June 20 at 8pm.
His superb style and renowned technique weave a path between pure flamenco and fusion that departs from the flamenco tradition of theme and variations. Having started on guitar at the tender age of six, Paco García first performed in a major concert in Grugahalle (Essen) in front of 10,000 people when he was only 10 years old. From the age of 10 to 14 he then attended lessons with his good friend, Salvador Andrades, with Paco de Lucia’s (World Grand Maestro) father. Between the ages of 16 and 20 he played all the major Spanish Festivals and subsequently went on to play with Paco de Lucia in Bethnal Green, London and in the Philharmonic Concert Hall in Cologne. At the age of 25, Paco was introduced to the Irish Music scene by playing to a sold out audience in the National Concert Hall in Dublin.
The ‘Reunion Concert’ will feature Emmy-award winning Maestro García on guitar; maestro Salvador Andrades on guitar (over 40 recordings include the soundtrack of ‘The Mask of Zorro’); Jose Parra as cocalist (lead singer of Vicente Amigo); Lucas Gonzales on cajon; Martin Deiton on bass guitar and special guest, the international flamenco dancer, David Lozano. This will be a truly stunning evening of music and is not to be missed. Tickets cost €22.50 and concessions are €20. A booking fee applies and for more information contact 061-322322 or see www.litmt.ie. |
