Hotly tipped Limerick band Supermodel Twins are preparing to bring a dose of blistering sunshine into our lives over the August Bank Holiday Weekend with the release of their second single 'This Time Next Summer'.

The local four-piece have been causing quite a stir in Irish music circles since the release of their chart-topping debut single 'Footprints' earlier this year. Today FM presenter Tom Dunne is already a huge fan of the band, playing their previous single every night for a month on his Pet Sounds show and hailing it as being simply "magic".

With favourable reviews in the national press and radio-play aplenty on radio stations across the land it would seem the Supermodel Twins bug is catching on. Comprised of Thom O'Keeffe on vocals and guitars, Alan O'Keeffe on guitar and backing vocals, Bertie Kelly on bass, and Denny Dunworth on drums, the quartet have already been tipped as "one of the most thrilling new Irish acts of 2008".

The Limerick band's second single 'This Time Next Summer' is an infectious three-minute burst of pop perfection with Sugar and Weezer-like guitar crescendos topped off with intelligent and wry lyrics worthy of Elvis Costello.

Recorded at Grouse Lodge Studios in County Westmeath, the single will be released as a download on Friday August 1.

"We are heading off to record our album in October and we just wanted to release this single now so that people see that we haven't gone away. In fact, we have been working really hard demoing tracks for the album and are really happy with how it's all coming together," Supermodel Twins frontman Thom O'Keeffe explained.

"Anyway the end of the summer really is the best time for us to release this single. With a title like 'This Time Next Summer' it was really made for this time of year," said Thom.

They release their second single 'This Time Next Summer' on Aug 1. You can catch them live at the Indie-Pendence festival in Mitchelstown, on Saturday August 2, and they play their first headline in Dublin at Whelan's on Tuesday August 5.
