OVER half of 20-something Munster women wish they were thinner but 89% say women of any size can be glamorous, according to new research.
The Kellogg’s Special K Fabulous Survey said that 44% of the 20-something group claim that they would like to be ‘a little smaller’ than their current size, while one in 10 wish that they were ‘a lot smaller’. On a positive note, 40% of young Munster women say that their current dress size is ideal for them—significantly higher than the national average of 31% who believe so.
Around 39% of Munster women surveyed aspire to be a 10-12 dress size; 40% would like to be a dress size 8-10 and a tiny 2% of individuals aspire to be size zero.
The survey was commissioned to coincide with the launch of the new Kellogg’s Special K personal plans—the two week kick-start plan and the longer term healthy eating plan, which are both available free at www.myspecialk.ie.
Lisa Cannon, TV3 Xposé presenter said that it is “encouraging to see that the young Irish women polled in this survey are being realistic about their aspirational size and largely reject super skinny size zero”.
The study also showed that 20-something Munster women think their best years are ahead of them with 60% believing that women are ‘most fabulous’ in their 30s and young Munster women believe that their own mothers give Charlize Theron a run for her money in the glamour stakes.
Charlize topped the Special K Fabulous Poll of the World’s Most Glamorous women—followed by Michelle Obama, Cheryl Cole, Sarah Jessica Parker and Angelina Jolie.
Around 19% of Munster women think their man is more stylish than Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp or Barack Obama but 26% agree that George Clooney tops the men’s style table.
