Two women and a toddler are lucky to be alive after they were involved in a two car collision near Adare in County Limerick yesterday morning at around 10.40am.

All three generations of the same family were travelling in a car which was in a collission with another car driven by a young man near the village.

One of the cars was said to have been pushed across the road by the force, while it’s understood that the car in which the two-year old child was in, filled with smoke before the the fire service had to use cutting equipment to release the passengers.

County Fire Officer, Patrick McMahon, said two appliances from Rathkeale Fire Service attended the “reasonably serious” crash.
