Gardaí set to ‘serve’ the OAP community E-mail

Gardaí based at Roxboro Road are preparing to swap their handcuffs for handkerchiefs and hand-towels and as they get in gear for the annual Christmas party for senior citizens living on the south side of Limerick City.

The much-anticipated event is due to take place next Monday night from 6pm-10pm at the Community Centre next to Roxboro Road Garda Station, when local community Gardai will serve dinner to the gathered residents and perform entertainment on the night.

Those attending this years dinner party will come from all over the city’s south side including areas in Ballinacurra Weston, Southill, Carew Park and Janesboro .

“Garda will serve the food, which will be cooked by a qualified caterer who is being brought in for the night. Members will also perform on stage for the senior citizens. There will be a sit-down three-course meal on offer and music too,” said Inspector Gerry McNamara, Roxboro Road Gardai.
