The annual Christmas Celebration Concert in The Georgian House will take place on Tuesday December 11 with tenor John Doyle, soprano Sarah Ellen Murphy, harpist Mary Kate Murphy and pianist Trevor Selby.

Well known tenor Mr Doyle began his singing career in his native Limerick as a member of the famous Redemptorist choir and progressed under the tuition of his first singing teacher—the renowned Limerick tenor, the late Jimmy Penny.

Mr Doyle went on to win first prizes in Féile Lunmi, the Dublin Feis Ceol and the Sligo Feis Ceol and was also a finalist in the 1983 'Golden Voice of Ireland’ Competition.

In recent years he has performed on numerous local and national radio broadcasts as well as headlining several recitals in the historical Georgian House venue at No 2 Pery Square.

Mr Doyle has also made several CDs and donated the proceeds of one of these to the charity, the Rett Syndrome Association of Ireland.

On this occasion he is delighted to be joined once again by talented performers, Sarah Ellen Murphy and Mary Kate Murphy.

The accompanist, Trevor Selby, is currently musical director of music in St Mary's Cathedral and has distinguished himself with others as one of the foremost local accompanists.

Mr Doyle said that he is delighted to be performing in the very festive atmosphere in the beautiful setting of The Georgian House and promised a fine evening of classic songs and Christmas favourites.

The concert begins at 8pm; tickets are €20 each and mulled wine and mince pies will be served on the night.

Tickets are available from The Georgian House or by phoning 061-314130.
