Man questioned as part of Cronin murder probe E-mail

Mr Cronin had been shot in the head, a post mortem, carried out by the State Pathologist, Dr Marie Cassidy, had found.

At approximately 8:05am yesterday morning, Gardai based at Roxboro Road, raided a house on the south side of Limerick City and arrested a man.

The 24-year old was being questioned under Section Fifty of the Offences Against the State Act by detectives investigating the gangland style murder.

Section 50 allows Gardai to question people arrested under the Act for up to seven days without charge.

A number of other people have been arrested in connection with the probe into James Cronin's death however as yet no one has been charged in connection with his killing.
