PRO of the organising committee, Paddy Mason, said that it is hoped that Mayor Kevin Kiely will attend the event, which was a massive success last summer. “There will be lots going on including the rugby and soccer competitions. There will also be a special match for the Regeneration Cup, which will be between local gardaà and players from nearby clubs and residents,” he said. “There will also be a bouncy castle; a slide; a puppet show and face painting for the children. There will be karaoke and old time dancing as well as sack races and egg and spoon races. We're hoping for good weather and there will be other events on the day.” The festival will run all day, until 4pm. “Last year, we held it for the first time and it went very well. All going well, it will be bigger and better and will be a repeat of last year's success. The event was organised by a committee drawn from local community groups and leaders as well as residents from the estate. |
