SPIN South West and Limerick's Live 95FM have both performed extremely well in the latest JNLR radio listenership figures with both coming out at number one in several categories.
Limerick’s Live 95FM is once again the number one local radio station in the country, now reaching 85% of the total Limerick radio audience every week-the highest seven day reach figure of any local or national station in the country.
The station is also Limerick’s most popular choice in all demographics with 86% of Limerick’s 15 to 34 year olds and 83% of over 35s being reached on a weekly basis.
Chief Executive, David Tighe, welcomed the good news.
“Limerick’s Live 95FM is delighted to be once again flying the flag for the city and county as Ireland’s number one local radio station. Our thanks go to our loyal listeners for tuning in day in day out to hear the best mix of music, sport and news in the region. To be number one in all demographics despite the increased competition in the youth and talk markets epitomises the broad appeal the station has to all ages.”
SPIN South West is the number one in the region for ‘Listened Yesterday', ‘Market Share' and ‘Weekly reach' for 15-34 year olds, reaching 123,000 adults on a weekly basis.
The Raheen-based youth station maintained its top position as most listened to radio station for 15-34 year olds in Limerick, Clare, Kerry, North Tipperary and South West Laois
Speaking about the results, SPIN South West CEO Aevann Upton said that the release of the last six months of listenership results marks “a really momentous day” for the station.
“Our first full book of figures for year one has been exceptionally strong and demonstrates the demand for our programmes and mixture of music. We have very loyal listeners and wouldn’t be here without their support and the hard work from the dedicated vibrant team at SPIN South West.”
