BMW is believed to be considering selling engines and other components to rival companies. The German company expects to make a decision before the end of the year on whether or not to sell engines to the likes of General Motors, Daimler and Fiat.
The German media reported in February 2008 that BMW was seeking potential customers for its engines and transmissions. BMW has decided on the year-end deadline because it believes that it would not make sense to go on talking about the plan forever.
