Corolla is Limerick’s best selling model for January |

THE latest figures on new car registrations for Limerick show that 531 new cars were registered for the month of January.
The figures on www.motorcheck.ie show that the Toyota Corolla was the top selling car in Limerick in January, followed closely by the Ford Focus.
This was followed into third place by the Ford Fiesta, with the Nissan Qashqai and Volkswagen Passat in fourth and fifth place respectively.
Overall, the Ford and Toyota brands were neck and neck for January in County Limerick for the month of January, with Volkswagen being the third most popular brand.
Diesel engine cars are outselling petrol cars by almost 2 to 1 as diesel sales now account for 63% of all new cars registered in Limerick.
This has resulted in Band A and Band B cars with CO2 emissions levels lower than 140g/km accounted for more than 76% of all new cars sold in Galway in the month of January.
Limerick drivers prefer hatchback cars to saloon cars, as 55% of cars were hatchback models.
And black was the most popular colour car in Limerick in January, marginally ahead of silver and grey.
