Ford has dropped the entry prices for the new Ford Ka, which is due to go on sale in advance of Christmas. The new entry price is €11,535 (plus delivery charges), which Ford claims is some €800 below that of the outgoing model. The price saving for the new Ka comes despite a high level of specification, in tune with the Ka’s promise of fun, fashionable motoring. Ford’s new baby is available in two series, Style and Titanium. Both series come in a choice of 1.2 Duratec petrol and 1.3 Duratorq TDCi diesel engines, delivering 69bhp and 75bhp respectively. All Ka models fall within the lowest tax band A, meaning road tax is just €104 per year. Despite the low price tag, the Ka Style does not skimp on features. Bound to attract the new model comes with alloy wheels and front fog lights, as well as the MP3 connectivity and 4-speaker radio CD. Ford’s acclaimed Intelligent Protection System is standard, with driver and passenger airbags, as is anti-lock braking. The Ka Titanium contains an impressive feature list with air conditioning, electric windows, heated electric mirrors and remote central locking all as standard.
