Mazda’s new Mazda2 model has competitive pricing starting at €15,895. The all-new Mazda2 is the product of a lightweight mindset at Mazda to reduce vehicle weight of new Mazda products as a way to lower fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, while delivering the agile handling and safety attributes customers expect of Mazda.

The new Mazda2 is a milestone in this respect: almost 100 kg lighter than the previous Mazda2, it reverses the trend towards ever-heavier vehicles while being safer and even more fun to drive.

By combining design with the increased use of high-tensile steel, the new Mazda2 has not only kept its weight under 1000kgs, but also improved safety, body shell rigidity and NVH performance, all attributes that normally mean more weight for a car.

In their search for unnecessary weight, developers left no area of the car untouched making the all-new Mazda2 a trendsetter for fuel efficiency and low CO2 emissions. It delivers some of the B-segment’s lowest fuel consumption (the standard power 1.3-litre petrol uses just 5.4 litres per 100 km combined) while producing just 129 g/km of CO2. This engine has more power than the previous 1.25 litre Ford developed engine that was shared with the Fiesta.

The new Mazda2 exterior design is totally different from the current model. Mazda claim that the dynamic styled Madza2 is one of the most streamlined models in its class with an excellent drag coefficient (Cd) of 0.31.

Drivers and passengers alike will find a surprisingly spacious interior. The position and shape of the A-pillars combine with an extremely low belt line to give excellent forward visibility. Innovative interior design creates an impression of airiness and space, while diminishing any perceptions of a cramped cabin.
