Mazda Motor Ireland has confirmed pricing for the new Mazda6 saloon. The all-new Mazda6 will be priced from €27,495 when it goes on sale nationwide in Mazda Dealer showrooms this week. ![]() At launch, customers will have a choice of 1.8l & 2.0l petrol engines in conjunction to the flagship 2.5l engine, with five different specification levels to choose from depending on engine size. "The new Mazda6 has raised the bar for Mazda in terms of design, driving dynamics and standard specification. This model brings us to a more premium level in the large family saloon segment, something which customers will recognise when they sit in and drive this vehicle for the first time," said David McGonigle, Managing Director Mazda Motor Ireland. The new Mazda6 individuality is emphasised in all areas of the vehicle including design, dynamic performance, packaging and craftsmanship. It provides an exclusive experience with quality feel and superior driving dynamics combined with an insightful package that delivers roominess and comfort. The overall size of the Mazda6 has increased to ensure increased interior room space, with rear passengers enjoying more leg, shoulder and head room. Rear boot space is increased to an impressive 519 cubic litres. Despite the increase in overall size, the all-new Mazda6 is following the weight saving strategy as previously adopted in the Mazda MX-5 and all new Mazda2. Mazda's R&D efforts for a weight-efficient body structure and extensive use of ultra high tensile steel, the new Mazda6 is 35kgs lighter resulting in better handing and fuel efficiency with lower C02 emissions. This light weight strategy in conjunction with vastly improved aerodynamic performance (Cd of only 0.27) due to the sleek design has resulted in excellent fuel economy (6.8L/100km - an approximately 12% improvement on the outgoing model) and one of the lowest C02 levels in its class – 161g/km. Every Mazda6 comes with a full complement of safety equipment including: Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) and Traction Control System (TCS), all-disc braking system with ABS, Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Emergency Brake Assist (EBA), driver & passenger front airbags, front side airbags, full-length curtain airbags, front seatbelt pre-tensioners with load-limiters, active front seat head restraints, and ISOFIX child seat anchorages. There are five different equipment grades are on offer to suit driver's needs. Specification highlights in the range include Dual Zone Climate control, Cruise control, Bluetooth phone compatibility, MP3 player compatibility, Tyre Pressure Warning System and the innovative Human Machine Interface. Throughout the new Mazda6's development, a total of 127 prototypes were used to ensure an even higher level of quality and reliability was carried through from the previous model. Although designed and built in Japan, much of the development of this car was based with Mazda's European R&D team in Germany to ensure dynamic handling and exceptional levels of comfort for European driving conditions. Mazda customers will have to wait until January next for the arrival of the hatchback, estate and diesel powered versions. |
