A native of Navan and a resident of Athlumney, Bob is one of the most popular and admired figures in the Irish motor industry.

Appointed Chief Executive for Volkswagen, Audi and Skoda some 13 years ago, he has overseen the development of all four franchises, including the expanding Volkswagen light commercial vehicles division.

In that period, he instituted a multimillion Euro dealership development programme which has seen Volkswagen and Audi dealers provide state-of-the art showrooms and facilities for customers throughout the network.

He also masterminded the establishment of a national independent Skoda main dealer organisation.

On the sales front, he helped establish a top-three position for Volkswagen in both passenger car and light commercial sales, strengthened the position of Audi amongst the top three in luxury car sales and last year brought Skoda into the top ten in terms of overall unit sales for the first time since its reintroduction here in 1993.

His early career with the Motor Distributors organisation was spent in administrative functions associated with the company’s car assembly operations at Naas Road.

In the intervening years, he held a number of senior appointments within the company.

These include a spell as Distribution Manager as well as periods as Sales Manager for Volkswagen, Audi and Mercedes-Benz.
