PSA Peugeot Citroen plans to develop a new family of 1.0 litre 3-cylinder petrol engines, with power ranging from 70bhp to 100bhp and emitting less than 100g/km CO2. The French based group believes that this engine will bring very significant reductions in consumption and CO2 emissions. To facilitate production of this new engine, two manufacturing sites will be set up, one at an existing plant in France to produce 600,000 engines annually, the other at a new location in Eastern Europe, to be announced. |
