Annual Census
National Office is setting up a new membership database system. This means the Annual Census and SQS return for 2008 will be made online. Both resource and floppy discs will no longer be forwarded to groups one will log in directly. Usernames and passwords have been sent to group leaders along with a cd containing instructions how to use the new system.

Annual Census
Group leaders received a prototype of our new flag which can be used in out halls and dens or for other ceremonial occasions. The emblem was approved at National Council in 2007 and the flag will be recommended for approval by the National Management Committee at the next National Council in 2008.

25th Limerick/Shannon Banks
The scout and venture sections had their investiture for 2007. Eight Scouts and five Ventures were invested with a presentation of Neckerchiefs by County Commissioner Bernadette Brennan. She also presented 3 Explorer Awards, 7 Tracker Awards plus some merit badges. In her speech Bernadette made comment as to the idea of four tiered scouting and that she was glad to see Shannonbanks become such a group with its newly invested Venture Scouts. Bill Fisher, Group Leader 25 Limerick also commented at the bad press Venture Scouting in general can have at times where as the Shannonbanks experience has been very positive, Bill said that Venture Scouts are the oil that keep the Group machine running smoothly. After the investiture the Scout/Venture Scouters and the Scout Court of Honour were taken out by the Venture Scouts for a Christmas meal in the China Ki restaurant in the Westbury Centre. The meal capped over a very good evening, and it also rounded off a very good scouting year in Shannonbanks.
