trainer John Corbett at the Market’s Field on Saturday.
A member of the family who sponsored the
James Corbett Memorial A4 sweep he also trained the winner of the other big
sweep, the Kasco A4 puppy event, which had €1,900 for the winner.

SAILING
GER O’Rourke is back on course and now a confirmed entrant
in next month’s Volvo Ocean Race.
The
Limerick sailor confounded pundits when news broke of his bid at the start of
the Summer, but shortly afterwards it was all taking in water due to lack of
sponsorship.

LIMERICK’S bold bid to halt an unprecedented Kilkenny ‘Grand Slam’ on the hurling front came unstuck at Semple Stadium in Thurles where the Shannonsiders finished second-best on a 1-16 to 0-13 scoreline in the All-Ireland Intermediate Final.

LIMERICK 37 turned in a superb display when they thoroughly outplayed table toppers, Dundalk, at Jackman Park on Friday.
The score was only 2-0 but, with Garry Sheehan in superb form, it could have been by a far bigger margin.
