Less than a length separated the other three heat winners of an event that will have €1,500 for the eventual winner. The sweep commemorates the memory of Christy Daly of Shelbourne Road, a lifetime member of the Limerick and Clare Owners and Breeders Federation. He also owned the winner of the English Derby, Randy. In heat two, Tourna Tomo (1) and Had I Time (3) were best away, with the latter shading it at the first bend. By the second bend, Tourna Tomo (Top Honcho-Kyledale Rose) had taken over. He went clear from there to win by six lengths in 28.65. The minor placings produced a deat heat between Killonaghan Lark (4), trained by Denis P O’Malley for the Bad Apples syndicate and Mossend Swift (5). Our Fella (1), owned by Gerard Kearney, was third in heat four when a total of eight lengths behind the 28.70 winner and Wise Jo, a reserve in trap two, was second in the remaining heat when three lengths clear of Banbas Serigo (3), owned by Mrs Fiona Goff and Joe Mangan of Crecora. |
