Last Saturday, Mike Kerley’s side, travelled to Cobh Ramblers and while they lost 2-1 it was a commendable effort.

Davy Ryan scored the Limerick goal.

A number of new players are expected to be in the Limerick 37 line-up and former player, Colm Heffernan, is also expected to rejoin the club after a season with Athlone Town.

Nigel Keady is amongst those who will not be with the club for what promises to be an interesting season now that the off the field problems are reputed to be sorted out.

The appointment of a media officer is still a major position waiting to be filled while an official announcement of the appointment of a new CEO has still to be made.

Ballynanty Rovers once again did Limerick soccer proud though they lost 2-1 to the holders, Killester, in the FAI Junior Cup. Goalkeeper Paudie Hickey gave a man of the match display for Balla whose late goal was scored by substitute, Paul Crowley.

Despite this defeat Ballynanty are still in the Munster Junior Cup and they are also in a very strong position for Premier League honours.

It was a tremendously successful Sunday for local clubs in the Munster Junior Cup with wins for Aisling Annacotty, Regional United and Wembley Rovers.

Pride of place goes to Aisling Annacotty who met a hotly fancied Waterford club, CarrickUnited. Two goals by Paul Cummins sandwiched between another by Aidan Hurley gave the local side a thoroughly deserved win on a 3-1 scoreline.
