Pride of place this week goes to the Limerick DL Youths side who are two games away from becoming national champions following their whipping of the Mayo Youths in the quarter final at Jackman Park on Sunday.

Limerick won 6-0 to set up a semi-final against the Cork League. Rory Carroll and Jeffrey Judge had the crucial opening goals as the interval approached and it became a second half stroll. Judge had his second and Limerick’s third and then came two goals by George Daffy with international, Shane Clarke, also on the mark.

Two games were also played in the Premier Division and Ballynanty Rovers put their FAI Cup defeat behind them when they beat Granville Rangers 4-1. Ballynanty have games in hand against the leaders and are three points behind. Martin Wallace and Robert Earls scored twice and Enda Cregan was on the mark for the losers.

Jansboro remain in contention to retain their title thanks to a hard earned win against Wembley Rovers. Alan Carroll was once again on the mark for the ‘Boro who also had a goal by Conor Lynch. Seamus Mulcahy scored for Wembley.

Six games were played in the Lawson Cup and scoring honours went to Regional United who trounced Glenview Rovers by a whopping 8-0. Frank Stewart and Mike Behan both scored twice with the other goals being scored by Mike Ahern, Finbar Foley, Kieran O’Connell and Frank Browne.

The big surprise of the round was the win by Hill Celtic over Aisling Annacotty. It finished 1-1 at the end of normal and extra time and Hill Celtic went on to win the penalty shoot-out 5-4. John Meskell for Aisling-Annacotty and Michael Thompson scored the goals in normal time.

Pike Rovers made no mistakes as they had a comfortable 6-2 win against Dromore Celtic. It was all over by the halfway stage with Pike scoring four times in the first half. Colm Enright and John Boyle both scored twice for Pike with Keith Hartnett and Pa Moloney also on the mark and Carew Park and Star Rovers beat Weston Villa and Shelbourne respectively.
