There was no joy for either Young Munster or Bruff in their respective league finals of the AIB All-Ireland League at Donnybrook.

Munsters were beaten 18-8 by UCC in the Division Two Final, with opposing out-half Gavin Dunne landing six penalties. The contest began brightly for Mick Lynch's team courtesy of an early try by Eoin Ryan. Full-back Mark Connolly kicked Munsters ahead again late-on, only for Dunne to fire over five strikes.

In the Division Three decider, top-seeds Bruff were surprisingly beaten, 32-23, by Instonians. A feature of the outing was a couple of smashing tries by John Stephen Shine for the Limerick side. Meanwhile, Munster Rugby Supporter's Club (MRSC) feel "betrayed: by the Munster Branch after their ticket allocation for the redeveloped Thomond Park was increased by just 1,000.

Limerick's most famous sporting arena will have its capacity increased to around 25,000 next season and the MRSC believed their present allocation of 2,000 would be increased to 10,000 rather than 3,000. "We were led to believe that 10,000 of our members would have full season tickets," said MRSC PRO Glenn Flanagan.

The supporter's club has 2,000 full-time members as well as more than 7,000 associate members who were hoping to become full members with Thomond Park's increased capacity.

"I feel so sorry for the associate members high on the list (for upgrading) who have been paying money up front for Magners League season tickets and are now out of the loop."

Cork City have confirmed general manager Aidan Tynan will depart the club "to pursue other business interests" as soon as a successor has been found.

Tynan, who previously worked in Limerick with the Irish Greyhound Board, is said by his employers to have completed the work he was appointed to do. It is understood the company, venture capital group Arkaga, have yet to decide on the precise nature of the role of his replacement might be asked to take up.

Arkaga have increased the first team budget since replacing former manager Damien Richardson with Alan Matthews, and have signaled a desire to relocate the club to a purpose-built stadium which would be part of a larger development capable of generating commercial revenues.
