Popular Captain Michael John Cosgrave’s Prize at Limerick County GC has been secured by Mike O’Brien, who emerged top of the pile from the 16 qualifiers who played an additional nine holes on the evening of the competition. O’Brien’s 38 points was sufficient to qualify, and the 16-handicapper hit a cracking 22 points over the play-off course to win by a couple of points from Philip Kennedy, with John McCarthy in third place. The leading qualifier was Cronin Garry junior. Clive Morgan posted the best gross score, with other prizes taken by Dalach Carey (past captain), Luke Kiernan (senior) and Mark O’Reilly (junior). |
