Dress Rehersal earned a step into Group Three company when landing the €50,000 Martin Molony Stakes at Limerick’s Greenmount Park.

Another winner for the in-form David Watchman, Dress Rehersal (9/4) made every post a winning one under Wayne Lordan and stayed on strongly to keep Red Moloney (13/8f) at by be a length-and-a-quarter.  “She’s a very genuine filly and stays well,” remarked Watchman.

“She did it the hard way and got a superb ride from Wayne, who said she was quite green in front, particularly in the straight.  She’s improving and deserves a crack at a Group Three, perhaps the ‘Give Thanks’ at Cork.”

The rest of the evening belonged to Fran Berry, who bagged a tremendous treble to bring his seasonal tally to over 40, thanks to the victories of the John Oxx-trained pair Take A Chance (12/1) in the  Cerveza Sol Median Auction 2YO Maiden and Masiyma (6/4f) in the Ballyduane Stud Fillies Maiden and the Cecil Ross-trained Six of Hearts (5/1f) in the Paulaner Alcohol Free Beer Handicap.

Trainer David Marnane recorded an across-the-card double, with the Michael Cleere-ridden Oasis Davis  (2/1f)  in the Grant Thornton Maiden at Limerick and Vanishing Causeway (6/1), partnered by David Casey, in the Finlay Communications Handicap Hurdle at Down Royal.

An interesting winner at Limerick was Radiator Rooney (4/1f), trained by Pat Morris and ridden by France DaSilva, in the Sign Flair Handicap – it was a first victory on the turf for Radiator Rooney, who is likely to reappear at Nass today (Wednesday).
Limerick will stage the last let of its Twilight Programme on Thursday, July 24th when The Blizzards will provide the post-racing entertainment.  Further details are available at www.limerickraces.ie.

Billy Lee piloted Zorija Rose for Tommy Stack – whose two fillies figured prominently in the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot – in the Fillies Maiden at Leopardstown.  The seasonal debutante, a great price at 12/1, scored ahead of second favourite Second Glance (9/4f).

On the same card, Fran Berry guided JP McManus’ First In line (5/2f), trained by Aidan O’Brien, to success in the Foxrock Handicap.
